About us

Our office is located at the National Archives of Scotland, Edinburgh, and is currently a team of two.  We will shortly appoint a Development Officer, who will expand our capacity enormously in terms of engagement with the sector and development of policy and advocacy programmes.

Our Director, Gordon Reid, is an archivist by profession and has vast experience within the sector having been the Records Manager for the Milton Keynes Development Corporation, and County Archivist for Powys, Wales, for 13 years, during which he worked on secondment at the National Library of Wales.  He then moved to Museums Libraries and Archives South West as Deputy Chief Executive where he led strategy on advocacy and development for archives across the region.  He is delighted to return to his ancestral home to work for the Scottish Council on Archives.  Email Gordon at gordon@scoarch.org.uk

Becky Penneck is the Events and Administration Coordinator.  Becky graduated from Edinburgh University in English Literature and gained experience as a student in the corporate events sector.  She is keen to develop the public face of the SCA, and in doing so promote archive and records management throughout Scotland, particularly under the banner of the Archives Awareness campaign.  Email Becky at becky@scoarch.org.uk
