Scottish Local Authority Records Retention Schedules

From this page you can download the records retention schedules. They are organised by function, following the structure of the Local Government Classification Scheme (LGCS) developed by the  Information and Records Management Society. Slight amendments have been made where Scottish Local Authority terminology and responsibilities differ from the rest of the UK. 

The schedules have been produced in MS Excel 97 – 2003 format and include a document control sheet for tracking future revisions, a Business Classification Schedule (BCS) sheet, with related terms and mappings to the Scottish Service List and Records Retention Schedule (RRS) sheet.
